Do you want to mix the DNA + plate yourself and send us such a 96 well plate?
In this new option of our sequencing service, you are the one who mixes the DNA and the primer in the correct amounts. We will only add the big dye and proceed for the cycle reactions, plus running the product at our sequencers. This is a low-cost choice for your sequencing projects:
How does it work?
- Ask us for the plate: Buy the bar coded 96 well plate from STABVIDA. This is a special plate since it has a bar code that is unique for each plate.
- In each well make the mixture of DNA (10 ng for 100 bp if PCR product or 100/µl ng if plasmid) and primer (10 pmol) and add water to a total volume of 15 ul.
- Place the order on-line, identify the barcodes of each plate and send them by courier to the address:

- If your laboratory or Institute has a daily-pick-up-fridge, put your samples inside until 12 am in the morning (in this case, there aren’t any shipping costs)
- We will send you the results by e-mail 24 H after receiving the tube at our laboratory.
- In this case the client will not have the option to ask for a free re-sequencing.
What quality will I get?
Sequence quality is most heavily influenced by the quality of the DNA template and the DNA sequencing instrument used. Our DNA sequencers are ABI 3730 XL, that provides best quality reads since it is undoubtedly the best sequencer model. Further on, STAB VIDA uses LongTrace to process their traces. We care about sequencing quality and routinely we achieve high quality read lengths in excess of 1000 bases.
What will be the turn around time?
Turn around time is most influenced by the distance that you ship your samples. For Portugal and Spain, shipping time is likely to be 24 H and results will take another 24H to be sent to your e-mail. If you have a daily pick-up point at your laboratory or Institute (what is it?) results can be sent in 24H after daily pick-up.
